LONDON, Equatorial Guinea, Aug. 25 (UPI) -- A British telecommunications company has hired reformed pickpockets to work as "put pockets," slipping money into pockets and handbags in a marketing campaign.  The company, Talk Talk, plans to post signs where the ex-pickpockets are at work in London that will say "Rejoice! Put pockets operating in this area," CNN reports.

Yeah, but what if the "reformed" pickpockets get the old urge?  I'd avoid those areas.

(AP) It's 9 1/2 feet wide and 42 feet long and is billed as the narrowest house in New York City. But there's nothing small about its asking price: $2.7 million.  Located at 75 1/2 Bedford St. in Greenwich Village, the red brick building was built in 1873, sandwiched between 75 and 77 Bedford.

This is New York.  Someone will buy it for that price, and then install a bowling alley.

LONDON, Aug. 24 (UPI) -- The British Home Office has convened a team of designers to create an alternative to the traditional pint glass for beer in pubs.  Home Office officials said the designers have been charged with creating several new drinking vessels within four months as alternatives to the traditional pint glass, which has been linked to a growing number of injuries in violent incidents at pubs, The Times of London reported Monday.
